Much like Vector's possible death on the moon in Despicable Me, his birth as established in The Rise of Gru raises serious questions about the nature of time and mortality in Universal Studios' Gruniverse. Most, however, presumed Vector wasn't born until Gru was well into adulthood. The only way to survive this collision would be to leave Earth. Gru is 12 in Rise of Gru, so in most fans' minds, Vector should be a newborn infant at the absolute earliest. What would happen if the Moon crashed into Earth. Perkins as an up-and-comer, one of the new crop of villains fresh on the scene. It was strongly implied in the first movie that Vector was a fair bit younger than Gru, to the extent there are decades between them. A new crater was seen carved on the surface of the moon by the rocket part when the collision occurred at around 7:25 a.m. Moon had its crescent waxing phase of 14 luminescence on April 4, 2022, and it was just a regular iterative phase for the lunar surface to do so. While on the surface this is a great nod to the impending events of Despicable Me in Gru's future, it also creates a plot hole in the Despicable Minionverse timeline. The crash wasn’t visible to humans, but the rogue rocket is said to have created a plume of dust that may have lingered for hours. Perkins (once again voiced by Will Arnett), the nefarious head of the Bank of Evil, the latter shows the former a picture of his infant son. Even though it's a prequel, Vector did make an appearance of sorts in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
